Software Developer

The Software Developer is responsible for  . . .

Application Development (1) Develop code features to meet design specifications: build features to the desired solution based on specifications and design requirements; integrate solution components to produce the final deliverable.
(2) Conduct code reviews during development to share knowledge and experience:  assess the quality level of the application’s features at the unit level; conduct and document results of satisfactory unit-level testing of implemented features. 
(3) Contribute to, and adhere to, design development standards during solution development. 
(4) Carry out unit testing as defined in the test plan:  address quality issues identified in the QA Testing process.

Technology Consulting
(1) Serve the team as a technology consultant:  be a technology resource throughout the project lifecycle; contribute to the definition of the Vision/Scope document from an implementation perspective; evaluate the technical implications of the project for implementation feasibility.
2) Evaluate and validate technologies:  conduct research, consult with subject matter experts, and understand the pros and cons of possible implementation approaches and technology choices.
(3) Actively participate in the creation and review of the functional specification: provide input into high-level design from a technology perspective.
(4) Contribute to defining development standards for Home Instead, Inc.:  remain on the forefront of development trends, and suggest technology enhancements.
(5) Actively ensure that agile development methodologies are utilized in Home Instead’s environment:  understand and manage development velocity; own the agile process from a software development perspective.

Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, and 6 months experience in application development using a software development methodology; or a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
