Responsibilities
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ROLE CAN BE FILLED IN OMAHA, NEBRASKA OR TOPEKA, KS BASED UPON CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS.
The Business Development Services team is seeking qualified candidates to join the team. This position is responsible for day-to-day sales support for all assigned customers in a multi-state region. The Associate/Analyst works directly with assigned business development managers (BDMs) to identify and satisfy the needs of the individual customer through innovative customer data management, pricing, accurate and timely billing, and unparalleled communications. The Associate serves as the point person for identifying and quantifying the inherent risks embedded in customer transactions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (*essential job functions)
Primary liaison between Sales and other functional groups. Solve problems that arise in any segment of the sales pipeline from suspect identification through invoicing including Credit, Contracts, Legal, Pricing and other issues.
Works with sales representatives and managers to maintain existing customer base and achieve growth expectations.
Prepares all requests as they relate to Customer Enrollment and Pricing (credit, contracts, quotes, orders).
Complete agency designation forms and/or other necessary paperwork for each new account.
Ensures risks associated with sales origination are properly identified and quantified.
Identifies and optimizes process efficiencies in the execution process of physical and financial hedges.
Serves as a secondary customer contact for customers, maintain good relations with customers through timely verbal and written contact.
Responsible for accuracy and integrity of customer data in Sphere including contact, facility and family structure.
Customer Reporting as required
Answers customer questions related to billing calculations and volume discrepancies.
Act as a member or leader of project teams to address larger process improvement projects.
Provides expertise and testing to IT department in the development of system enhancements.
Qualifications
Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge of business principles and practices
Knowledge of the physical gas market and physical gas flow
Knowledge of risk management and financial tools (future contracts, options, etc.)
Knowledge of deal structure applications and alternatives
Aware of all the key competitors within the region
Understanding of tariffs and operational requirements of the appropriate LDCs within the region
Skills/Abilities:
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively and professionally with internal and
external parties
Superior problem solving skills
Ability to work in an unstructured, highly visible environment with minimal direction
Ability to manage several different tasks simultaneously
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors, colleagues, and customers
Strong organizational and time management skills - ability to organize and prioritize a fast-paced, heavy workload, and coordinate the same with other CNEG Departments
Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
Extreme ability to hold information confidential with all vested stakeholders
Performance driven, results orientation
Education/Experience:
Required - Bachelors degree in a business related field or equivalent experience
Required - 3+ years experience in natural gas sales, accounting, supply, operations, or related position
