The Role
As the AVP, Compensation andSales Reporting, you will provide leadership, strategic direction and functional expertise to all aspects of the compensation and sales reporting processes for your assigned area(s) of responsibility. You will provide consultative advice and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and drive compensation and sales reporting and analytic support to advance growth and profitability initiatives and deliver meaningful business results.
Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
Contributes to the development of the Group Protection business units strategic goals and objectives.
Directs the effective implementation, integration, and execution of the compensation and sales reporting teams strategic and tactical plan initiatives.
Directs and sets the organizational goals, objectives, and operating procedures for the compensation and sales reporting team.
Ensures the adaption of a business model that continues to grow in both volume and complexity.
Compensation Management and Reporting
Contributes to the development of the short and long term strategic vision of variable compensation and broker bonus programs.
Develops strategic compensation and sales reporting processes for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility to drive reporting and analytical support to advance growth and profitability initiatives and deliver meaningful business results.
Directs the annual review of variable compensation and broker bonus programs.
Directs the implementation of new variable compensation and broker bonus plans.
Directs the timely and accurate processing of all compensation payments to sales representatives and broker incentives.
Direct the analysis and monitoring and/or assisting with the development of compensation plans, identifying specific accounting and procedural problems.
Direct the development of controls and reports to ensure compensation disbursements are made accurately.
Direct the adherence to new/revised compensation programs resulting from the release of new products, changes to existing products, distribution, accounting or administrative systems.
Directs the timely and effective resolution of issues regarding accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance of representative compensation and broker incentive while assuring customer satisfaction, protection of Company financial interests, and compliance with regulations, contract terms, and Company policy.
Directs the timely and accurate processing and reporting of monthly and annual sales results.
Develops and ensures adherence to the guidelines for monthly and annual sales reporting.
Relationship Management
Develop a strong working relationship with the Group Protection Distribution Management Team (VPD, RM, SM, etc).
Present to and actively work with the Group Protection senior management team.
Develop and maintain a working relationship with rep compensation software vendor and with other Lincoln Financial Group compensation and sales teams.
Collaborates with key business partners to ensure execution of business initiatives.
Interact daily with distribution, claims, product, marketing, underwriting and customer service leaders.
Talent Management
Analyze the team needs to ensure goals and objectives can be met.
Direct continuous improvement efforts for compensation and sales reporting teams.
Encourage a team oriented atmosphere promoting professional growth and training.
Requirements
Education
4 Year Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
Experience
10+ years of progressively more responsible experience in the financial services industry, including demonstrated finance, actuarial, and/or accounting management experience in the insurance industry; or 14+ of equivalent work experience of progressively more responsible experience in the financial services industry, including demonstrated finance, actuarial, and/or accounting management experience in the insurance industry.
3+ years of management, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience
