Tour Guide at Omaha

As a Tour Guide, you will work in our Hall of History and serve as a role model in carrying out the Father Flanagans Boys Home mission. You would be responsible for communicating Boys Town history and points of interest for a wide variety of people, answering questions related to Boys Town history, and conducting tours upon request. You would monitor the exhibition floor and audiovisual displays, arrange merchandise into displays, and monitor literature displays. You would serve as a reference source for visitors and callers by answering inquiries over the phone or in person regarding services, and redirecting telephone calls to appropriate departments as needed. You would maintain and provide proper security for the Hall of History which would include opening the Hall of History in the morning and ensuring that it is secure at night. Other duties may be required and assigned at times and as determined by a supervisor in order to meet the needs of the organization.

To be considered for this unique opportunity you will need:

  • A high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills

  • The ability to work independently

  • The ability to speak comfortably in front of large groups of strangers in an articulate, professional manner

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred

  • Previous work experience preferably to include customer service or tourism

  • Thisposition requires moderate physical activity such as standing, walking, working at a keyboard, workstation, or desk, and handling objects up to 20 pounds.
