Yard Waste Driver at Omaha

Job Description

Summary:Deffenbaugh Industries is currently seeking a Yard Waste Driver to drive the Residential trash truck through neighborhood, collecting yard waste material.This person will get in and out of the truck approximately 400-700 times a day to assist the helper with loading the truck.Additionally, this person will record daily activities as required per company policy and DOT regulations.Essential Functions:This is a full time Yard Waste Driver position, responsible for the following duties: Drive trash truck on designated route within municipality, picking up yard waste material from 700-1000 houses per day with the use of 1 helper Assist in loading material into the back of the truck, on average between 50-100 pounds per bag Record mileage, house count and fuel consumption Utilize Routeware computer system in each truck for GPS, missed houses and daily route check All drivers must assist in the safe operation of the truck which includes: evaluation of materials left for collection, determination of whether those materials any hazardous materials, and decision making on what materials can safely be taken

Job Requirements

The ability to get in and out of the truck to throw trash 400+ times per day Class A or B CDL with 1 year driving experience within the last 2 years in a CMV with a GVWR over 26,001 pounds Must be able to pass Motor Vehicle Report and background check Previous experience with a manual transmission All applicants must be 21 and older Must be able to read and write in English.
