In this position, you will create designs and specifications for new agricultural equipment products and to build, test and evaluate component and composite prototypes ensuring that all design goals and requirements are met.The job responsibilities will include:
  • Directly oversee the investigation, written recommendations and implementation of all new equipment and facilities projects that affect manufacturing
  • Use critical thinking skills to troubleshoot problems, find root causes, and develop and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct and participate in Continuous Improvement events
  • Oversee and be directly responsible for new product development activities
  • Develop and maintain workplace layouts to improve material flow, material presentation, ergonomics and efficiency
  • Develop product cost estimates for new and/or modified products
  • Develop and maintain routings and bill of materials
  • Develop, implement, and maintain equitable standards
  • Training and auditing of operators to ensure processes are robust and produce desired results
  • Investigate, recommend, and implement replacement or new technology (equipment and processes)
  • Participate in and lead Lean initiatives
  • Determine, prioritize, and implement cost savings, quality improvement, safety and ergonomic improvement projects and activities
  • Develop and implement production/process methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost efficient manner.

    Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering preferred, will consider Industrial Technology or Operations Management with 5-7 years experience in similar manufacturing role
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge, OSHA/Industrial safety requirements familiarity, and thorough understanding of quality systems and process control are required
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills, blue print reading skills, and strong problem solving and critical thinking skills are required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint), 3D Modeling, and CAD software with MRP Systems required
  • Advanced MS Excel, Intermediate MS Word and PowerPoint knowledge
  • Ability to think strategically and identify trends
