Job Description

Our customers include government agencies, aerospace prime contractors, energy exploration and production companies, major industrial companies, and airlines and general aviation companies.Implement production processes which lead to the accomplishment of assembled electronic electrical, and mechanical sub- and final assemblies by using various power and hand tools, and printed and verbal instruction. Processes are performed at a rate which meet production schedule demands dictated by Keyman. Actively participate in department activities which lead to a more productive/proactive work environment. Maintains clean, safe and organized work areas by following all safety policies and procedures.Results Expected:Note: Assemblers are empowered and expected to be actively involved with activities within and relating to the assembly department.1.Builds both basic and complex electrical, mechanical and/or electronic sub- and final assemblies by: (25%)a.)using hand tools, power tools, assembly fixtures and automated manufacturing machines.b.)using verbal instruction and printed documentation, such as, assembly drawings, blue prints, process layouts, and procedures.2.Ensures correct assembly by: (25%)a.)applying the knowledge and skills needed to monitor ones own work (perform own visual inspection).b.)applying the knowledge and skills needed to insure quality parts from external areas.c.)performing operational checks and test and interpreting the results.d.)performing calibration procedures.e.)performing low level trouble shooting to isolate problems with non-conforming units (trouble shooting is restricted to a three minute period and with the use of voltage, current, and ohm meter checks).f.)repairing and reporting any non-conformance or discrepancy found.3. Performs all job tasks, and job requirements in an efficient manner by: (20%)a.) continuously monitoring all job processes to determine if they are necessary or need to be changed.b.)interacting with peers, manufacturing support staff (i.e. manufacturing engineer and technicians, scheduling and material handling personnel), engineering support staff (i.e. design and product support engineers, drafting and technical persons).c.)provide feedback to other areas both written and verbal on changes.d.)gathering feed back information, analyzing that information, and implement any required changes.4.Insures that team, shop, department, and company goals are met by: (10%)a.)participating in goal setting and establishing measuring points.b.)participating in problem solving and taking corrective action when needed.c.)assisting fellow team members with attaining the knowledge and skills needed to perform job task (training).5.Complete all written documentation accurately and within prescribed time frames by: (5%)a.)attaining an understanding of the document and its purpose .b.)following procedures and guidelines outlining the document.c.)asking for assistance if any discrepancy should occur.6.Keep manufacturing equipment in good operating order by: (5%)a.)knowing and understanding the purpose and operation of the equipment.b.)performing periodic checks and maintenance.c.)reporting any malfunctions or break downs to the manufacturing engineering staff.7. Assists in achieving the goals of Isco by performing other duties as assigned. Accepting the responsibilities of performing other duties when assigned (in most cases, and its preferred, these tasks be volunteered for). (10%)

Job Requirements

Ability to identify electronic components by knowing the physical appearance and number schemes of electronic devices.Ability to read and understand resistor color code.Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and other printed documentation.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all peers and management staff, and be able to work within the team structures. This includes assisting with training and dissemination of information vital to the growth of the team, department, and company.Requires basic math skills.Must successfully complete the soldering training program at Isco.Demonstrated ability in the use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.Demonstrated ability to use chemicals/compounds correctly and safely by following prescribed directions and the use of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions. This includes standing and sitting, generally more than 25% of the time is spent in a standing position.Ability to interpret the solder connection results made after a printed circuit board has been wave soldered, and demonstrated ability to make the appropriate changes to the solder machine settings if problems are identified.Have the ability to lift and carry items between the weights of 5-25 pounds. Depending on the product line this job is associated with may need to be able to lift 100 lbs.
