Independently, implements programs within the Contract Manufacturing functional area of the Enterprise Quality group. Supports the Contract Manufacturing Platform Quality Manager in the implementation of relevant QA processes and procedures in the Contract Manufacturing Quality group. Responsible for supervision and direction of other professional employees without direct reporting responsibility to the position. Owns the quality relationship between ConAgra Foods and the contract manufacturers quality group.
Position Responsibilities
Gathers and studies data to understand trends and issues and to make decisions related to product safety and quality in areas of assigned responsibility.
Supervises and executes activities related to reviewing, monitoring and assessing the integrity of a contract manufacturers adherence to our quality expectations is also expected.
Contributes on cross functional teams to assure effective implementation and adherence of QA initiatives and process improvement of our contract manufacturers.
Develops and maintains relationships with management at Contract Manufacturing facilities in order to drive continuous improvement efforts .
Functions at an autonomous level with little to no supervision.
Performs tasks that are highly complex in nature on a regular basis.
Implements processes and procedures within assigned technical area(s) of responsibility.
Directs day to day activities within assigned areas of responsibility.
Designs department processes and procedures.
Advises others in the organization on matters of a technical nature.
Develops a metrics to measure effectiveness/progress.
Provides technical and decision-making support and data in managing situations and issues relative to quality and/or food safety as necessary.
Interfaces with and provides technical support to appropriate functions and employees to assure regulatory compliance, food safety and quality.
Evaluates effectiveness and assures continuous improvement in assigned areas of responsibility.
Position Qualifications
B.S. in Food, Biological or Chemical Science or related field required.
Minimum 5 years of food industry experience in QA, Operations or equivalent function required.
Extensive knowledge of food safety, food manufacturing processes, technologies or other relevant area of responsibility.
Experience in using continuous improvement tools and fundamentals.
Relevant experience with government regulatory requirements in food processing.
Great report writing, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Demonstrated strength in setting example for others.
Ability to travel 70% of the time. Must be able to travel independently and as a responsible ConAgra Foods representative.

Driving a company or rental vehicle for up to 8 hours as needed
