The Senior Systems Analyst designs and implements integrated systems solutions to technical
and business problems at both tactical and operational levels. He / she researches /
debugs / analyzes problems, plans / models solutions and presents software and systems
solutions while collaborating with and guiding other IT Associates. He / she works closely
with suppliers and customers to ensure business or technical requirements are fulfilled in a
quality manner and that technical resources are accurately estimated and carefully utilized.
Using functional requirements, he / she oversees efforts across the full systems development
lifecycle including development of technical specifications, configuration of applications
and, whenever applicable, construction, testing and implementation of computer
programs. The first assignment for this SAP Senior Systems Analyst position will be within the SAP ALM Plant Maintenance space, specifically working in the SAP ALM and MRS modules on a customer facing team.
Position Responsibilities
Business Process
Business Process: Lead others to implement best practice integrated system solutions and process changes for complex business opportunities.
Functional Analysis: Lead planning, gathering and documentation of functional requirements and ROI opportunities for complex business opportunities. Proactively research business process problems and seek root cause. Leverage business process knowledge to estimate work efforts.
Functional Design: Design, review and present functional solutions for complex business opportunities that enable process change, continuous improvement and competitive advantage. Business experience working with Plant. An understanding of standard scheduling processes will aid candidate when working with Multi-Resource Scheduling module in SAP.
Infrastructure Services
Information Security: Conduct risk assessments for integrated systems and ensure a balanced security posture based on risk. Recommend updates to IT security policy for emerging threats.
Availability / Recovery: Establish measures and reporting of availability, reliability and maintainability. Identify unacceptable levels of availability. Investigate underlying reasons for incidents of unacceptable availability and partner with infrastructure teams to design solutions to mitigate.
Capacity / Performance: Produce forecasts of future capacity needs working closely with infrastructure teams. Work closely with business partners to document acceptable system performance when new types of users or transactions are introduced.
Application Services
Technical Analysis: Lead planning, gathering and documentation of technical requirements through researching and analyzing problems, planning and modeling possible solutions and recommending software. Identify incident trends and build proactive plans to eliminate. Leverage technical knowledge to estimate work efforts.
Technical Design: Design, review and present technical solutions for complex systems with multiple integration points, multiple functions and / or unique logic requirements that are effective, efficient, maintainable and that provide reliability and scalability.
Construct / Implement: Plan, drive and deliver solutions that are contemporary and in accordance with architectural guidelines. Deliver on time and on budget. Develop standards and direct technical maintenance of applications according to architectural guidelines. Design functional unit, scenario and integration test plans and scenarios. Execute quality reviews.
IT Process
Release Management: Lead others in compliant and effective application of release management processes and procedures. Drive consistent application of fundamental System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes to ensure delivery of quality system changes.
Program / Project Management: Manage projects or stages of projects and lead others in the proper and effective application of project management processes and procedures. Execute project management disciplines and conduct quality reviews to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and according to approved scope and design specifications.
Incident / Problem Management: Lead and assist others in conducting effective investigation / diagnosis of incidents and root cause analysis of problems. Develop, implement and document solutions in a timely manner and validate with users that service has been restored.
Change Management: Lead and assist others in conducting proper urgency, impact and risk assessment of change requests. Plan, schedule, implement and document changes in accordance with core SDLC and Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes.
Financial Controls: Lead and assist others in properly identifying operating and capital expenses and ensuring timely and accurate time tracking of all work hours. Ensure accuracy of estimates for all work activities and tasks.
Position Qualifications
Four-year college degree in computer science, information systems or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Demonstrated ability to interface with and influence personnel at all levels of the ConAgra Foods Enterprise.
Exceptional communications (written and oral), change leadership and customer service skills.
High sense of urgency.
Experience working with cross-functional information technology teams.
Problem solving ability (to include analytical, prioritization, and escalation skills.)
Planning skills.
Understanding of process and project management.
Knowledge of critical ConAgra Foods business systems and processes preferable.
Adaptability and flexibility in a fast changing environment.
Overall IT experience of 4+ years with a least 2 years applications analysis and software development, design, support experience is required, preferably within SAP ERP package systems. Must be experienced with SAP 6.0 or later
A candidate will have participated in SAP Plant Maintenance business definition for at least 2 full project life cycle implementations.
A minimum of 2 years of SAP Plant Maintenance configuration experience and understanding of Enterprise Asset Management, corrective and preventative maintenance, integration with other SAP modules Design and development of Plant Maintenance queries/reporting using SAP BW and BOBJ.
Ability to partner with plant personnel to fully understand concerns. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills are essential for resolving Customer issues.
Understanding of HP Quality Center for testing, and Remedy for Incidents and Changes is preferred
